Obituary of Tommy R. Kingery

Tommy R. Kingery, 91, of New Windsor, NY passed away June 24, 2022, at Montrose Veterans Home in Montrose, N.Y. Tommy was born December 15, 1930, in Watson, Missouri as the only child of Tom and Sally Kingery of Hamburg, Iowa. Tommy grew up in Iowa on a family farm until he joined the service. Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 21 years at which time he proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam. Tom retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Also, while in the service he had many assignments that brought him to Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh where he fell in love with the Hudson Valley and chose to live here the rest of his life with his loving wife Ethel whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Tommy enjoyed many past times including gardening, antiquing, tag sales, watching the N.Y. Yankees and being a member of the VFW Post 386, Lifetime member of the Senior group, The 60+ Blooming Grove Senior Group, The Catholic War Veterans, Meals on wheels and helping anyone in need and especially cherished spending time with his dog Barney. Survivors include his wife Ethel, his daughter Kim Brown, Son Serge Kingery (Diane), Stepdaughter Debra Sherwood, Stepson’s Robert Dominick (Patty), Glenn Dominick and Scott Dominick (Jen). Tom was the proud grandfather of 20 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his son Thad Kingery. Graveside services will be held 11am on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery Goshen, NY. with military honors. In lieu of flowers Tom’s request is “if you happen to run into a Veteran thank them for their service and welcome them home” and take time to go visit a lonely veteran at a nursing home if possible.
