Steven Weissman, 78, a longtime resident of New Windsor NY, died Aug 25, 2023 after a long struggle with heart failure. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Sol and Freda Weissman he moved to the Hudson Valley more than 50 years ago. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of 39 years, sons Stuart of Saugerties and Samuel of Newburgh, daughter Erika Burrett of Glenham, son-in-law Danny, granddaughter Robin and grandson Micah.
Steve was devoted to his family and his rescued dogs. He was happiest when he was helping other people. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral is Tuesday, August 29 at 11am at Congregation Agudas Israel 290 North Street Newburgh, NY. Interment immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery, 93 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to your favorite animal rescue or the American Heart Association.
