Obituary of Ronald J Wright

Ronald J. Wright “Pop” September 22nd 1932 – November 24th 2023 Ronald J. Wright, "Pop" of New Windsor, passed away November 24th at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 91. Ronald was born on September 22nd, 1932 in Hamburg, NJ. He was the son of Howard and Anna Owens Wright. He married Elizabeth Pushman Wright and they were together until her death in March of 2013. Ronald was a veteran of the Korean war, serving in the 5th RTC. He was a retired truck driver from Teamsters Local 445. He loved racing and attended Accord Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway on a regular basis. He was avid fisherman and loved to watch the New York Yankees. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ronald is predeceased by his parents Howard and Anna; his sisters Beatrice Crum and Bernice Fleischer; his wife Elizabeth; and son Ronald Wright. Ronald leaves behind his daughter Joann Deyo and husband Michael of New Windsor; daughter-in-law Cindy Wright of Milton; Granddaughter Heather Howard and husband Seth; Grandson Joseph Kinsley and wife Jennifer; Grandson Kyle Wright. He also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren: Colin, Rilee, Emily, Natalie, and Brooke. In lieu of flowers, Ronald wished that donations be made to the American Heart Association. This can be done through www.heart.org. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3rd from 2pm – 5pm at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Avenue, New Windsor NY. A private family burial will take place on Monday December 4th.
