SHEILA (McDONALD) RANALDI August 7, 1937 - April 15, 2018 Newburgh, NY Sheila (McDonald) Ranaldi, 80 of Newburgh, New York, formerly of Greenfield MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 15, 2018 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence Newburgh, NY. She was born August 7, 1937 in Montague, MA, She is predeceased by her parents James and Lillian (Suda) McDonald of Greenfield, MA, and her late husband of 49 years Amerigo (Rico) Ranaldi. Sheila was a second grade teacher in the Newburgh School District where she focused on the children and families of the Fostertown Elementary School. Sheila and her husband Rico enjoyed traveling and camping. She also enjoyed reading, player cards and debating Yankees/Red Sox with her siblings. Sheila leaves behind her sons, Joseph (Janet) Ranaldi of Orlando, FL, and Kevin Ranaldi of Newburgh, NY; Leslie Potente (Peter) of Flanders, NJ and 8 grandchildren Max and Allie Ranaldi, Dominic, AnneMarie, Marissa and Joseph Potente, Katie, and Nicole Ranaldi. Siblings Maureen Dudek of Greenfield, MA; Ted McDonald (Marina) of Surprise, AZ; Larry McDonald (Mary) of Jamestown, RI; Jim McDonald (Gale) of Norwalk, CT as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, from 4 to 8 pm at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc. 239 Quassaick Avenue (Rte94) New Windsor, NY A funeral mass will be held10am Friday, April 20, at Sacred Heart Church Newburgh. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
